2014 International Exhibition Is Over, Business-Inform
2014 Project Continues
On
20–22 of May, in the pavilion #69 of All-Russia Exhibition Center, the Office Equipment,
Printing Supplies and Parts International Exhibition, Business-Inform 2014 took
place. It was organized by Information Agency “Business-Inform”
(www.sforp.ru). The official
sponsors were UniNet (USA) and SINDOH (Russia). 74 companies from Russia, China,USA, Japan, Germany,Lithuania, Sweden, Switzerland,India, Malaysia, and Poland took part in the Exhibition.
Most representative were the following groups of companies: Russia (33 companies), China (25 companies). 4 companies
represented Germany, 3 - USA (http://sforp.ru/BI2014/exhibitors.htm). The exhibition was visited
by more than 1500 specialist. It is notable that along with Russian
buyer-companies management (around 40% of visitors) the interest towards the
Exhibition was expressed by specialists from Russian buyer-companies (more that
15% of visitors). The largest part of visitors came from different regions of Russia(54 cities and towns). The event was also visited by guests from Japan, France,Netherlands, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Lithuania, Uzbekistan,Kirgizstan, Estonia, and Moldova.
The
visitors showed considerable interest in the Fourth International Conference,
Business-Inform 2014, which was held simultaneously with the Exhibition in the
conference hall of pavilion #69 (http://sforp.ru/BI2014/list.htm). During the Conference the representatives
of the printing supplies industry leading companies exchanged views on actual production
and promotion issues on international and Russian markets, evaluated main
market trends, shared the forecasts. 17 reports presented on the conference
were visited by more than 750 specialists. Most of them got the opportunity not
only to hear the leading industry specialists, but also to discuss actual
issues with them. The reports that attracted most interest were dedicated to
the printing outsourcing and MPS-solutions, printing quality evaluation,
marketing in different segments of office equipment and printing supplies
market.
According to
the majority of the exhibitors and visitors of the Business-Inform 2014 Exhibition, the
informational events (exhibitions, conferences, seminars) are attaining more
and more importance in Russia. Only regular supply of
information by the industry leaders, open discussions of new products and
tendencies would allow the Russian market to remain up-to-date, quickly
reacting to the emergence of new and perspective technical and technological
solutions on the world’s market. As a result, the majority of the participants already confirmed their
participation in the Business-Inform 2015 International Office Equipment,
Printing Supplies and Parts Exhibition (Moscow, All-Russian Exhibition Center,
May, 2015).
The
exhibition ended it work on 22nd of May, but the implementation of Business-Inform
Informational Project continues. On the Business-Inform Agency web-site a
virtual Business-Inform
2014 Exhibition (http://www.sforp.ru/BI2014/) has already started working. By clicking on any of the presented booths one
can get onto the virtual booth of the exhibitor. Each virtual booth will have
the contact information of the exhibitor, short description of the supplied
products, photos made during the latest exhibition. Each exhibitor-company has
a possibility (absolutely for free!) to present on its virtual booth an
announcement, advertisement, commercial offers, presentation. In this way every
exhibitor of Business-Inform 2014 continues the informational exchange with the
visitors. The virtual exhibition Business-Inform 2013 done in the same manner
continues its work on the Informational Agency’s web-site (http://sforp.ru/BI2013/).
A
preparation for publishing of Business-Inform Review #5, 2014, has begun. The organizers will not only include there
the majority of interesting reports made during the exhibition, but a lot of
other information from the leading industry specialists. 15000 copies of the magazine will be printed
both in English and in Russian before September 2014. Part of the print run will be presented during Chinese and European
exhibitions in the second half of 2014, beginning of 2015. The Exhibition
organizers suppose that this magazine has already become a calling card of the Business-Inform
Informational Project and will serve as an extra argument in attracting world
leading companies to participation in future Business-Inform exhibitions and
conferences.
As we said
before, the exhibition ended it work on 22nd of May, but the
implementation of Business-Inform Informational Project continues. In the
period between May 27 and June 30, Business-Inform Informational Agency
specialists plan to prepare and publish no less than 15 press-releases and no
less than 3 electronic issues of E-News Digest with materials dedicated to the Business-Inform 2014
exhibitors and their products. During the exhibition more than 800 e-mail addresses
were added to the number of subscribers, reaching the number of 18000, which is
the testament to the relevance and urgency of this kind of informational
product release.
The implementation of Business-Inform
Informational Project continues!

HP – one of the leading global printing and computer equipment manufacturers – admitted giving bribes to get a computer equipment supplying deal with Russian Attorney General's Office in 2003.
Several Russian media has
simultaneously published articles on HP admitting giving bribes in Russia.
According to
the Russian media sources, HP – one of the leading global printing and computer
equipment manufacturers – admitted giving bribes to get a computer equipment
supplying deal with Russian Attorney General's Office in 2003. The investigation of this case began already
in 2009 in Germany(the shipments were conducted on behalf of HP’s German representative office). Later
the investigation was also joined by US officials. According to the verdict of the
Californian Northern District Court, which had been dealing with US claim
against HP’s Russian representative office, HP has been found guilty of giving
bribes to Russian officials and organizing respective ‘grey’ 8 million euro
fund, as well as concealing this information from the HP’s head office. The
Russian representative office admitted itself guilty of violating US Foreign Corrupt
Practices Act (FCPA). Besides HP’s Russian office, HP’s Polish and Mexican
offices also admitted the violation of FCPA. As a result, HP will pay 108 million USD penalty (the sum includes
‘punishment’ for analogous corrupt practices in Mexicoand Poland).
However
not all Russian media joined the discussion of the story. Information Agency “Business-Inform”
General Director, mr. Malinsky Stanislav told Recycling Times in an interview –
“We will not discuss this occasion. Of course, the fact that HP had been giving
bribes to Russian officials is a shame for such a well-known company. We can continue
writing the word ‘shame’ for a long time. However, we are paying your attention
that these articles (quite justly condemning HP) lack the names of the Russian
officials who received the bribes. Why we are not being told the names, if the bribing
scheme was so perfectly unveiled? The officials who received the bribes are no
less guilty than HP! Such crime as bribery always has two sides guilty – the
ones who gave and the ones who received the bribe. Until the names become known
we will abstain from discussing the case”.

19.04.2014| RecyclingTimes Magazine| Business-Inform
Recycling Times Magazine has published a small article,
called “Clone Cartridges
Sold in Russia May Violate OEM Patents” on its web-site as a response of HP and
Lexmark to the interview with Information Agency “Business-Inform” Director,
mr. Malinskiy S.V. regarding the specifics of the Russian market. HP and Lexmark
representatives claim that the situation with registration of their patents in Russia has considerably
changed and recently most of OEMs’ patents regarding laser cartridges have been
registered. This is a very important issue for the Russian market. Which
patents are registered? When they were registered? Why there is still NOT A
SINGLE lawsuit being filed by the OEMs against the suppliers violating
registered patents? The discussion of the article and related issues takes
place in BUSINESS-INFOR 2014 group at LinkedIn.com.
Comment from mr. Malinskiy S.V.:
I
send the questions to the specialist of HP Matthew Barkley : “…
What patents of HP are registered in Russia? When they were registered?
What LASER cartridges these patents are deal with? Why there are no lawsuit to
sellers of clones?..”
And
I received the following answer from Mr. Matthew Barkley: “…Regarding the comments from HP at the Recycling Times publications, I am
responding on the basis of HP Inkjet business and HP inkjet patents in Russia. I
represent HP’s inkjet business and that’s the scope of my comments..”
COLLEAGUES
!!!! Please,
pay attention to the fact, that my interview and my report was about the market
of LASER cartridges. :-)

ReChina Imaging Supplies Forum 2014
April 22, 2014 Shanghai, China
The 12th ReChina Asia Expo will be held on April
23-25, 2014 at Shanghai Exhibition Center. As one of the most important events
in the printer consumables industry, each year, the
event draws thousands of third-party supplies vendors from around the world to
Shanghai along with various companies that support the remanufacturing industry
including ink and toner manufacturers, cartridge component producers, and
others.
On April 22, ReChina Imaging Supplies Forum
2014, the industry summit conference, will be held in Shanghai on the day
before the doors open on the 12th ReChina Asia Expo. Charles Brewer, president and founder of Actionable Intelligence,
has been tapped to deliver the keynote address at the upcoming ReChina Imaging
Supplies Forum.
“I am truly honored to be
invited to deliver the keynote address at this year’s ReChina Imaging Supplies
Forum,” Mr. Brewer says. “I have had the privilege of presenting to ReChina Asia
delegates on a number of occasions over the years, but this will be the first
time I’ll deliver the keynote.” Mr. Brewer says his address will focus on the
global digital imaging market. He will discuss the key forces shaping today’s
market as well as some of the risks and opportunities that the industry faces
in the future.
Jeffrey Gu, the general
manager and organizer of ReChina Asia Expo, says he is very excited about this
year’s event. “We have been hosting ReChina Asia Expo in Shanghai since 2004 and
today it is recognized around the world as China’s premier event for the
remanufacturing industry.” Mr. Gu says that he is particularly excited about
the ReChina Imaging Supplies Forum. “For a variety reasons, mostly logistical,
we did not host a forum last year and visitors to the show missed it. So, in
response to overwhelming demand, we have reinstituted our forum and we expect
many to participate especially since we have so many compelling speakers.”
Mr. Gu says that ReChina
asked Mr. Brewer to speak because of the global reach has established over the
past five years. “Mr. Brewer is among our industry’s most respected analysts.
The news coverage and analysis his firm provides at is website is unparalleled
and we are delighted that we have been able to enlist him as the keynote
speaker for our forum.”
In addition to Mr. Brewer,
Mr. Gu indicated that the ReChina Imaging Supplies Forum will feature a full
slate of industry veterans from around the world who will offer their insights
and observations about the current supplies markets and where things are
headed. The list of speakers includes Sanjeev Mahajan, vice president of NAND,
ltd., a chemical toner producer based in India; Chris McFaralane president and
CEO of PrintFleet; and Daniel Mazzeu, president and CEO, DMZ Global
Connection, which markets toners and cartridge components as well as
other products for Future Graphics in Brazil.
ReChina Asia Expo is
China’s “must attend” gathering for the world’s remanufacturing industry. Mr.
Gu explains that Shanghai is an international city that is easy for attendees
to reach and visit. “Most countries have direct flights daily to Shanghai and
many travelers can visit the city for up to 72 hours without a visa,” he says
Like the city itself, ReChina Asia Expo is easy visit. The show is centrally
located at a landmark exhibition space situated in one of Shanghai’s most
inviting areas. “The venue is unique and it is within walking distance of many
hotels and restaurants,” says Mr. Gu. “We have hosted ReChina Asia Expo in
several locations but our visitors and exhibitors love the Shanghai Exhibition
Center,” he says. “We expect to see many retuning attendees along with many new
faces in 2014. This is shaping up to be one of our most exciting events ever.”
Welcome to
ReChina Asia Expo 2014, on April 23-25 in Shanghai, China! And welcome to join
the industry experts and leading entrepreneurs at ReChina Imaging Supplies
Forum 2014! Visit www.rechinaexpo.comfor more.
